Welcome to UCA Albuquerque (Capoeira Girassol), an academy and community where adults and children can learn the transformative practice of capoeira: movements, music, culture, ritual, history and practical philosophy.
What is Capoeira?
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that fully engages the body, mind and spirit. Within this practice, we play, dance, fight, sing, improvise and push our perceived limits. At its core, capoeira both anticipates and reflects the forces at play in the wider world and within the individual. It is a holistic and complete practice that helps strengthen our self-expression, body power and relationships.
